Krizna' Profile

Hi,my name is Krizna .I am i a student in grade 8.So if someone were to ask me if I liked math I would say sure.Math isn't a subject that i really like but i think its okay. Its not one of my strongest subjects but I don't mind it.the grade that i had the strongest in math was grade 4.Because in grade 4 i used to love doing division.Because i was really good at it.but I think math is okay.

On grade 7 i really liked doing problem solving I,really liked figuring out problems and playing with numbers. But sometimes when its like a multiplying kind of one its kind of hard.Last year was okay I got almost all of my work done. But I think I did well.

I know already that in grade 8 its just going to get harder But I'm looking forward to doing square roots. And i am looking forward to math n grade 9.

I didn't do a post last year because i never got the chance. But I was disappointed because i didn't do one and it was my on fault i got a bad mark. But this year i will try harder to do more posts and get better marks.

Ryan's Math Profile

Hi my name is Ryan Mercado. I am a math student in grade 8. If someone asked me do you like math? I would say yes becauase math is important in life. I say this because when you get older and you buy things by yourself you need to know how much money you need to pay for something. The best thing i did last year was blogging because it was fun and you can help people when they need it. Also i think of it as test to see if I pay attention in class.

In grade 7 my favorite unit was fractions because i already knew some things about it. I did well in this unit becauase I knew what I was doing for the entire unit and if i had to I would explain how i got an answer. The unit i didnt do well in last year was the co-ordinate grid. I knew the basic things that you had to do but i got confused about the three transformations except for rotation. This year i must pay attention in class so I know what do in a unit.

This year in grade 8 i will try to help my classmates with things they dont get so they can get it and do the rest of the work with no help. I also wanna make more blogs because it will test me if I payed attention in class or not. This year I would like to learn more about algebra because im weak at it so I wanna try to improve on it so I dont have to always ask what do we do or i dont
get it.

Last year I did a blog about Why We Estimate because I wanted to help people who didnt get the unit. Blogging helped me get better because when i dont get something I can look at the blog and try to find out what i dont get. When were on computers in math class I hope to do more blogs and make sure I get homework done on time.

Mussie Mesgun Math Profile

Hi, my name is Mussie Mesgun I'm in grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if i like math i would say NO because for me it was really hard and challenging . It was one of the harder subject in grade seven that i hate so much and had hard time understanding . because I wasn't doing all my homework and my tests marks were LOW . But I need to put my head in the game and do way better than last year. Math is important for me in the future so i really do need it and i will work hard this year .

This year im in grade 8, I will be more successful by staying on task and do more blogger and do all of my homework and hand it in on time. Also get as much help until i understand what i'm doing. Also ask more questions. My goals are this year is to get a good mark in math and pass grade eight exam and grade nine exam .Do all my homework on time .

In Grade seven I really liked doing Integers i understand it very well. Also i learned "mean median mode" it was pretty good i understand it and did really good on this unit. It was fun learning how to do "mean median mode" i enjoyed it .

Samara Bartos Math Profile

Hi my name is Samara Barto I'm a grade 8 math student. I someone asked me if i liked math i would say not really its really me "Do you like math?" I would say yes because math is part of my life and whe kinda hard when you get used to it .When i was younger I have really bad in math but my parents said i need more help in math so i can pass my grades . so i used to have y my mom or my teacher help me so now i'm kinda getting the hang of math but in some parts im not good. I learn it and that other people think its no use of learning it, it's actually a if part of life!

The unit that i really injoy and thought was easy was fractions because it was easy to understand I the work that i did about fraction was really simple because I just needed to be tought only once or more if i didn't get and after that all of it would be easy. The unit that i didn't do really good in was probably the translation but only the rotation one because it was really confusing for me and I would get frustrated because i didn't know how it would be like. My goal for this year is to pass the exams and move on to grade 9. But im really not that good at math i just need to try harder.

This year in grade 8, I will be more succusesfull by staying on task more and I would complete all my work and try to hand it on time and comment on all of the blogs when i have time t to make a blog this year . This year would like to learn how to do rotation so it won't be difficult for me to do. I also want to get more better in dividing cause i want to be more clear so when i go to grade 12 so it would be much easyer to do in school. I will try to make this not so difficiult this year.

Mark's Math Profile

Hi, My name is Mark ALDRIN Castillo and I'm a Math Student in gr. 8. If someone asked me if I liked math I would say, "Yes and No." because Math will help you in the future and will help you in other subjects and at the same time it's pretty hard to learn math and gets frustrating at sometimes. My favourite part of math class is when we got to learn a bit of Algebra last year with Mr. Isfeld because I really enjoyed the challenge on how to do Algebra.

Last year in gr. 7 I really enjoyed learning how to add Mixed Fractions because at first it was really challenging for me until I got some help from my friends and now I might say I'm pretty good at it. Last year I struggled on Algebra because the fact that you have to find what a letter stands for is really confusing to me.

This year in gr. 8 I will study and get some help if I don't get something to be a successful math student. I look to be learning more about Algebra because I heard from some students that in High School Algebra will be a big factor in your grading and I want to do well.

Last year, I did a few blogs and there was one particular site that I found really interesting and helpful, YouTube Video. I found this video really helpful in learning how to do Algebra and it's very understandable. Blogging really helped me to become a better Math student because it's like a second lesson because you'd have to read over your notes to blog. This year I would like to know more tips and tricks on how to blog better in Math computer class.

Joshua's Math Profile

Hi. I'm Joshua Simangan. If someone asks me, "Do you like math?" I say, "Are you kidding me, no." I know math is very important for me in the future, but still, i dislike math alot. The most favorite thing I did in math class was when Isfeld was teaching us how to do the blog and a girl in my class suggested if we could use a Justin Bieber video as an example. When some of the girls were screaming, the rest of the class and me were covering our ears. It was hilarious. I liked this event because we got a lesson and a laugh.

The unit last year that I was great at was coordinate grids. I would always get perfect on coordinate grid tests. It was so easy I thought a Grade 1er could do it. I probably did well on this unit because I would always study on it because its so easy. The unit I struggled on last year was fractions. I would always get pretty bad marks on the fraction tests. On that term, I hardly studied to get better. So, for me to get better at fractions, I have to study harder. That's what I'm gonna do this year.

This year, I'll try to be less lazy and actually study for tests. Last year, I didn't do alot of that. So that's how I'll improve. This year I'd like to learn more about what those buttons mean on the calculator. For example, log, sin, etc. I have no idea what they mean.

This is my favorite blog: http://room44math09.blogspot.com/2010/05/measures-of-central-tendency.html. Blogging made me a better student by, teaching me how to finish the blog fast and not 9:00pm so your classmates can comment on it, it teached me how to be more organized when making blogs, and it teached me that the more blogs you do, the more marks you get. ;). What I want to do more in math class on the computer is fun math games. We could be educated while still having fun.

Karl Naoe's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Karl Naoe and I'm a student in grade 8 math. If someone asked me if i liked math i would say "yes" because i think it is sometimes fun and when i was young my parents would help me in math when i was struggling. The best thing i ever did in math class was blogging. I likes blogging because when you blog you can be creative and it's very fun.

Last year in grade 7, probability was one of the best unit i studied because i worked harder and i listed more. When we had the probability test i did really good because i had 90% of the test correct and i usually have 80% of the test correct. The unit that made me struggle the most was fractions. At first it was easy to me, but when we had to convert fractions into mixed and improper fractions i got really confused. This year I'm going to work harder and listen more and maybe ask for help if i don't get it.

This year in grade 8, I'm going to start righting more notes down if i get stuck on the unit and try to achieve academic rewards. This year in grade 8 i want to learn more about geometry because last year in grade seven we barely learned about geometry and we only used our geometry sets a few times in math class.

Last year in grade 7, my favorite blog was about
Bisecting and Perpendicular Bisectors. I liked this blog because this is one of my blogs i really took time to do. Blogging made me a better student because i missed a few days of school and when i checked the blog i saw what my classmates did in school when i wasn't there. This year i would like to do some math projects on the computer and do some problem solving.

Angelique's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Angelique Marcial. I'm a math student in grade eight. If someone asked me if I liked math I would say, not really. My answer was not really because I'm not strong with math and I'm not really into numbers and sometimes I get mixed up. The best thing I ever did in math class was doing the blog. I LOVED doing that because it's fun, you can do it yourself, in your own way. I also liked it because you didn't have to do much work just type and look for other things, you can also help you peers with math stuff.

In grade seven I really liked Integers. I found it the best, I found it really easy to do. I found the integer chips easier than number lines. I found number lines really confusing, but integer chips made my work more fun to do and faster. Last year in grade seven, I remember I had LOTS of trouble with rotation and transformation and the others. Then, finding the new coordinates. I didn't really get it, it was because I was in the Philippines at the time when they were talking about it. I didn't get to ask. I will listen more about it in class if we ever get to talk about it and learn about it. So I wouldn't struggle this year I will listen very carefully and write down extra notes that I might need.

Now I am in grade eight, to be a successful math student I will write down extra notes in case it might be in the exam, finish all my homework and be more organized with my work. I will always review what I have learned on that day so I can remember, and do good on a test or quiz. Before any quiz or test though I will study very hard for it so I can get perfect on the test. This year in grade eight I want to learn more about linear equations. I want to because last year in grade seven I found that fun also. I found it fun to solve linear equations than any other math problem.

I was a blogger last year. I had lots of fun blogging and commenting on other peoples blogs. One of my favourite blogs that I made was one about solving equations. This was my favourite because it had everything, color, an image, video and a link. There were also lots of great comments and remember I said earlier that I liked solving equations? See, its true! Blogging made me a better student because thats what helps me review. I ALWAYS go on the internet after school so might as well look at the blog to see what we did today instead of just going to my binder and reading it, like it seems so boring. When I look at the blog it seems more colorful and I can learn more from the video and the link. This year in math class I'm really looking forward to the math movies we are going to make that Mr. Harbeck was talking about! I think I'll have a fun math year! (:

Jennily's Math Profile

Hi, My name is Jennily Luu. I'm a grade 8 math student. I someone had walked up to me asking me "Do you like math?" I would say yes because math is part of my life and when i was younger I have done pretty well in mat hbut my parents didn't think it was good enough so i used to have a math touter so now i'm actually enjoy doing math not only that I learn it and that other people think its no use of learning it, it's actually a if part of life!

The unit that i really injoy and thouht was easy was fractions because it was easy to understand I the work that i did about fraction was realy simple because I just needed to be tought only once or more if i didn't get and after that all of it would be easy. The unit that i didn't do really good in was probably the translation but only the rotation one because it was really confusing for me and I would get frustrated because i didn't know how it would be like. My goal for this year is to write more clear and write in my note book so i won't lose anything so when exam comes I would know what to study and it would be clear.

This year in grade 8, I will be more succusesfull by staying on task more and I would complete all my work and hnd it on time and coment on all of the blogs or make more blogs. This year would like to learn how to do rotation so it won't be difficult for me to do. I also want to get more better in algebra cause i want to be more clear so when i go to high school I won't have to have a difficult time with ths.

Last year I had only did one blog and it wasn't really that important it was mostly about boston and lakers and what we had to do to get more marks. When we get to use the computar in the math room i would want to create more post and comment more often on other peoples post.

Hendrik's math profile

Hi my name is Hendrik I have been good at lots of things in math but the thing I liked the most was algebra.I like trying to find out what the number could be and there is always something new.I love the felling I get when I figured out the answer to a really hard question.

Sadly there are things I am not so good at like unit rates.most of the time it's pretty simple but sometimes the question is hard to figure out even WITH a calculater. The best way for me to improve would be to learn how to solve it on a calculator because I still don't really know how to do that.

The best blog I ever did was the one just before our first test. it was the second math blog ever made in our class.Just like Mr.Isfeld told me, I made it clear that if you don't study you will fail.

Marysa's Math Profile

Hi, my name is Marysa and I am a grade 8 math student. If someone was to ask me "Do you like math" I would say yes. I would say that because math is a subject that I think that I'm pretty good at. The best thing I ever did in a math class was taking tests. I like the event of taking tests because it really shows me whether I know how to do the things in math I was taught during the week or past few weeks.

Last year in grade 7 the unit I studied and did the best in was probably the unit where you change fractions to percents and decimals. I think I did well in this unit because I was really focused on learning. What made me struggle last year was rotations. I'm not sure why I struggled with them but towards the end of the year on the exam I had practiced and got better at them. I think that I could still become better at them with even more practice.

This year in grade 8 to be a successful student I will make sure to listen and do my homework so that I will know all the information before the tests. This year I want to learn how to do harder word problems. I like word problems and think that it's fun to combine the knowledge from other units together to solve a problem.

I blogged last year and my favorite post I did was the one on the area of a triangle. I think that blogging has made me a better student because it helps me review what I did in class that day and helps me remember it so that when we are doing our unit test I know all the information. Another thing I want to do in math on the computer is maybe learn some interesting math web sites that can help me learn.

Meldrick's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Meldrick Agravante and I'm a student in Grade 8 Math. If someone asked me if I liked math, I'd say "Yes, yes I do". The best thing I ever did in a math class was an activity of showing how the area of a circle and a parallelogram are similar using an orange, because we got to eat the orange afterwards (thank you Ms. Wilson).

In Grade 7, the best unit I studied was two-step equations and I found it easy because I studied it the year before in Grade 7. The worst unit I studied was integers because I found it tedious to draw the number lines and integer chips. I could improve this year by sucking it up and drawing the cursed lines and chips.

To be a better math student in Grade 8 than I was in Grade 7, I will try to do work faster and not do it at the last minute like I usually do (like now). One thing I'd like to learn this year would be how to use those complicated buttons on the calculator that don't seem to make any sense at all.

My favourite post that I made was my last one, How to Scribe, because I put a picture of Elmo, linked it to my favourite book series' website, and added an Adam Lambert music video, Whattaya Want From Me. Blogging helped me with math by helping me get caught up when I was away and also making math a little more entertaining. This year, I'd like to keep blogging and adding lots of videos to our posts, at least one math related and one music video.

Christian Ty's Math Profile

Hi, my name is Christian Ty. I am a math student in grade 8. If someone asked me "Do you like math?" I would say yes, because when i was young my dad helped me with my math, so i felt confident. The best thing I did in math class was blogging because it was fun and it was a chance to help your classmates by commenting.

In grade 7, my favorite unit was fractions because it was really easy to understand. I did well in this unit because I started to write my notes neater. The unit i didn't do well in was the co-ordinate grid. It got me confused and it was the first unit after summer break. It got me confused when we had to do the 3 transformations. This year to improve I will try to listen better and write cleaner notes.

This year in grade 8, i will help my classmates with their math problems so they could improve and myself, also I will try to make more blogs and comment more often to help people that missed math class. This year I would like to learn more about integers and algebra because those were my weakest subjects and I want to improve so i could be like my dad.

Last year i did blog, my post was about Subtracting with Unlike Denominators because some of our classmates were confused so I had a chance to help them. Blogging helped me get better because I could always look back on what I learned in case I forgot. When we're on the computer in math class i hope to do more blogs and complete assignments.

Kris' Math Profile

Hi, my name is Kristopher Gonclaves. I'm a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if I like math I would say, "Yes!" Math is my favorite subject after Phys ed. My favorite thing to do in math is learning about algebra equations and trying to solve them. I really liked grade 2 math because I learned my multiplication tables and memorized them and I learned a trick to skip counting by 9's. It made math in grade 3 much easier.

In grade 7 math the best thing I learned about was the order of operations (BEDMAS). This also made math much easier and interesting and I could do harder work. I also really like the unit on probability because I was good at it. The unit that was hard for me was measuring perimeter and area because it is hard to remember the formulas to do it.

This year I want to make sure that I always stay on task, finish my work and get 90% or higher on all the tests. I will also work hard to finish all the blog posts because last time I didn't always finish them because they were hard sometimes. I look forward to doing harder algebra this year so it is challenging and I can get better at it.

In grade 7 my favorite post was the last one because I was able to use color and pictures and it was my best one. I hope that I am able to use these thing in my blogs this year and each time do better. I also hope my blogs can help other people.

Summer's Math Profile

Hi my name is Summer If someone asks me if i like math, I tell them if i could design a shirt the front would say I Love Math then the back would say Just Kidding :) The best thing i ever did in math were math games. I liked them because we learn but also have fun doing it.

The best unit that we did last year was fractions. I did well in this unit because it was easiest for me and i found it fun.drawing the fractions is easiest. The unit that made me struggle most was divisibility. To do better this year i will going to ask for help more often.

This year i will listen carefully and practice my multiplucation table so i can be more succsesful. this year i would like to learn more on fractions, units, divisibility.

Last year i blogged my favorite blog i did was on problibility. If you go to the link mines the one about the coins in the cup. Blogging helped me become a better student because you have to look at it even more carefully because you are typing it out. I want to do more blogging and commenting.

Jomer's Math Profile

Hi, I'm Jomer. I'm a math student in grade eight! When people ask me if I like math, I hesitate to answer. That's because some days I love math, and other days.. I'm not a big fan of it. When I do good on a test, that's when I love math. When my class does work and I don't understand it that's when I don't like math. I remember in grade seven, every Thursday's our math class would have a test. One day it was about fractions, and I was excited because I understood fractions and I knew I was going to get a good mark on the test. The last question made us do a lot of work! I got the answer and I remembered what the teacher said, "You should always simplify a fraction." When we corrected the test, about five students and I were the only people that did simplify. I felt so proud because I'm not the smartest student in math and I got the answer right!
In grade seven I really liked the unit on fractions. I did well on fractions because i actually decided to study. I studied because fractions seemed interesting and easy. The unit that made me struggle was angles. I think it was hard for me because I didn't understand it and I didn't bother asking for help. This year when I'm struggling with a unit, I promise I'll ask for help so I could improve my work.
I'm in grade eight now. I know that studying and doing my homework will not only make me a better student. But it will also make me successfully pass grade eight! I'm looking forward to learn a lot of things this year. One thing I'm really looking forward to is Algebra. I learned Algebra last year, but I didn't understand it. This year hopefully I'll understand it more.
Last year, I was a very good blogger. All my post had beautiful pictures and very good information. One of my post was about order of operations. I was really proud of my post because a girl in an other class even took the picture I made! That blog had all the things it needed. Pictures, and a Video.. But I didn't have a link. Blogging made me become a better student because it shows I can do work on paper and on the computer. Some students can only do work on paper, or on the computer. But I can do both! This year I would like to learn how to use a Mac, and making a math movie. This year will be a very interesting year!

Maya's Math Profile

Hi, my name is Maya. I am a grade 8 math student. If anyone asked me if I liked math, I would say no because it's not my strongest subject and I always have a hard time on it. The best thing that I have ever done is math was in grade four when the teacher would take out que cards. She would ask us a question, and when we got the question right she would give us a treat.

The best thing I did last year in math was probably doing the measures of central tendency. It's really easy learning about mean, median, mode, range and outlier. At first, I didn't get it but then I kept working on it. Then, it became easy and it was actually pretty interesting. The unit that I thought was really hard was doing algebra. I thought it was really confusing and to this day, I still think it's confusing. This year, I will try to study more and get my grades higher.

This year in grade 8, I want to become a better student by writing notes down so I can remember stuff easily for a test/quiz. I also want to study more so I can get high marks that I've always wanted. Plus, I would like to learn more about algebra since it has always been a struggle for me since last year.

My favorite post that I have done last year was Integers. Even though the post wasn't long enough, I still enjoyed making it. Maybe if I could, I would have done a little better to improve. I hope that this year, I will work harder on blogging. Doing the blog also helped me because of all the comments. Their opinion meant alot to see what I did best at what I could have done to make the blog much better. Blogging also helped me to be a better math student because I would always reviewed them in my free time and eventually, I remembered what I needed to learn.

Alec's Math Profile

Hello, I'm Alec, a student in grade 8. If someone asked me if I like math I would say yes because we use it every day in our lives. For example, when we go shopping, we use money which is part of math. Although there is many things to choose from, i would have to say the best thing i did in class that involved math was blogging. I love blogging because you have the chance to be very creative, and you also have the chance to show other people what you know in math.

Last year in grade seven, I loved doing algebra. I loved it because I thought it was fun and when I do fun things in class it makes me want to work harder on it, and sometimes it makes me get a higher mark. A unit i struggled the most in was fractions. It was pretty easy at the start, but once it got in to converting improper fractions to mixed numbers, it started getting a bit harder. I could improve that by studying more and maybe even by doing a little bit of extra work.

Grade 8 looks to be a fun year in math. I plan to be a more successful student this year and i could achieve that by studying more than last year. Actually, I have to admit, the only time I studied last year was when it was exams. I would like to learn more algebra this year since it's my favorite thing in math and I know it gets more complicated.

Last year, we also did blogging. One post (made by me) that I really liked was about subtracting mixed numbers. I liked it because to me, it felt like I did a really good job of explaining how to subtract mixed numbers. Blogging helped me become a better student by learning from other peoples blogs if I'm away that day. Without blogging, I may have failed some test. This year, I want to use the internet more in math and do more creative projects on the computer. I think this will help me learn math better because if I like doing something, it helps me get more focused.

Louis dela Pena's Math Profile

Hi, my name is Louis. I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me "Do you like math?" I would tell them yes, I love math! I like math because its easy for me at times, math is my strongest subject. The best thing I ever did in math class is blogging. I like blogging because its fun, easy, and if I did help I can just ask my brother.

In grade 7, the best unit I learned was adding and subtracting fractions. I think I did very well in this unit because I listened and when Mr.Isfeld showed us how to do it, I caught on really easily. The unit that made me struggle was surface area, it made me struggle because the formulas were confusing. This year I'll listening more so I won't get confuse.

This year in grade 8, I will try to finish my homework so that I wouldn't hold back the class and follow on with the unit. I will also try to finish blogs so that the people that weren't at class can see what we did. I'm looking forward to learn more algebra this year and becoming better then my brother.

In grade 7 when we blogged I think my first blog was the best one I did because it was my first blog and I thought that i might have done something wrong but didn't. Blogging has made me a better student by being able to learn from others when they solve a problem their way so I have an idea of how to do a question like that again. In math class I would still want to learn blogging so that I can get better at it.

Breanna`s Math Profile

Hi, My name is Breanna! I am a grade 8 math student. If someone were to ask me if i liked math i would say yes, because math is everywhere you look, and if you look at it from a different perspective then its really quite simple. Math, comes hard to me at first, but once i go through it a couple of times it becomes easy. The best thing in math class we did last year is learning how to skip count. That really helped me with my multiplication.

In grade 7, The best unit that we did was "the measures of central tendency" Learning how to do the mean, median, mode, range and outlier. It all came easy to me. I think the reason it came easy to me was because i had a definition of each word and an example. I think that the hardest thing to do was algebra. I think the reason it was a difficulty to me was because i would forget some of the steps and showing it in my work. This year i will practice these things in order to get better grades.

This year in math, for me to be successful i must practice and study the unit of math so i understand and do not forget steps in my work. Another thing is that i will make sure all of my assignment are on time and done properly, or the best that i can. This year in grade 8 i would like to learn a bit more about algebra and fractions.

My favorite post that i created last year was estimating and calculating homework . Blogging made me a better student because it would give me a chance to look over the work we did that day, and help my other class mates improve on their writing skills, along as my writing skills. Also if i missed that class for some reason i could copy the notes off the blog so i could keep up in math with notes and homework. This year i am looking forward to blogging about algebra and fractions so i could really focus on those to particular units.
