Brandon's Great Big Book of Integers

Chapter 1

Grade 7 Integer Review
Questions for class
-8 - (-4) = -4
-10 + 8 = -2
8 - 7 + 2 = 3
17 - (-3) = 14
- 5 - (-7) = 2

- 2 - 5 = -7

3 - 7 = -4

5 + 5 = + 10

-5 + 6 = - 1
Chapter 2
Multiplying Integers
(+4)x(
+2) = 8

Make 4 groups of positive 2

Make 4 groups of negative 2

(+4)x(-2) = -8

(-4)x(+2) = -8
Remove 4 groups from positive 2

(-4)x(-2)= 8

Remove 4 groups of negative 2

Chapter 2

Dividing Integers

Even = When you have a even number of negative factors your product is positive.

Odd = When you have a odd number of negative factors your product is negative.

Partitive Division - when you use groups to find your quotient.

6 ÷ 2 = 3

(-6) ÷ (-2) = 3

Quotative Division - Sharing numbers in groups

(-6) ÷ 2 = - 3

Chapter 4

Order of Operations

(+6) x (-2) + (-6) ÷ (+2)= ?

1) Always do multiplication and division first
2)
Put square brackets around (+6) x (-2) ex. [(+6) x (-2)]
3)
Put square brackets around (-6) ÷ (+2) ex. [(-6) ÷ (+2)]
4) Solve (-12)+(-3) = + 15

Brandon's Text Book Volume Scribe

From the textbook, I had to do pages 260-261 numbers 11,16,17.
Here's what I did.

1)
Copy and complete the following table.
the 700 is supposed to be 1200, sorry for the mistake.

a) So this is what I did. I needed to find the height for the first one so I divided 70 by 7 and I got 10
then I divided 10 by 2 and got 5.

b)For the second one I did the same thing 1080/12 = 90, 90/10 = 9 12x9x10 = 1080

c) 1200/5 = 240, 240/ 15 = 16

16)Cindy’s aquarium stands 75 cm tall and
has a base that measures 1.2 m × 80 cm.
At one point during the initial filling, the
aquarium has a 12-cm depth of water in
it. Cindy needs to fill it to 15 cm from the
top before she adds the fish. Draw a
diagram and label the dimensions of the
aquarium. Determine how much more
water Cindy must add before she puts in
the fish.

v= l.w.h
v=75cm.80cm.12cm
v=72,000 cm3

17) contractor is excavating a rectangular
hole 10 m × 12 m × 3 m to pour the
foundation for a house. A dump truck
with a capacity of 9 m3 is used to haul
away the excavated soil. How many trips
does the truck need to make?

v= l.w.h
v=10mx12mx3m
v=360
360/9= 40

The truck made 40 trips

Final Percent Post

Percents
This chapter, we learned about percent. Percent means out of 100. Percents can be converted into fractions and/or decimals.
Example:
75% - 75/100 or 0.75

Representing Percents
Percents can be represented on a hundred grid.

Example: 55%

Fractions, Decimals and Percents
Percents can be represented as a fraction or a decimal. Example: 50% ; 50/100 ; 0.5

Percent of a number
You can find percent of numbers by using mental math strategies. They are halving, doubling, a dividing by 10. Example: 50% of 1000 is 500

Combining Percents
Combine percents by adding to solve the problems. Example: 5% + 7% = 12%

Here is my percent video.

Brandon's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Brandon. I am a math student from sargent park. If anyone asked me if I liked math, I would say yes it's a subject I normally like to take. I usually have some trouble solving some problems.. But I still solve them. I like math because it warms my brain up so I can think of more ideas. But if I think to much, my head starts to hurt a lot!

In grade 7, I really liked the unit probabilities because you just estimate random numbers. I kinda struggled in adding fractions.. It was kind of easy in the beginning but once we got into the unit deeper I had some trouble doing it.. I would study more and complete my all my math homework .. especially the ones that I have trouble in.

For grade 8, I would like to be successful in every unit we learn. I also want to pass all my test and exams in the end of the year. I want to learn a lot of things in math like everything! It may seem tough.. But I want to accomplish on learning all of the units in math.

I only posted one post in grade 7, and it is my favourite one of all! Because I made everything from scratch... besides the diamond graph.. Making my post was fun.. It felt like it wasn't even math anymore! Blogging helped me become a better student.. Because reading everybody's post can make you learn a thing or two.
