Hazel's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Hazel Turdanes. I am a math student in grade 8. If someone asked me "Do you like math?" I would say yes, I do like math. Math has always been one of my strongest subjects in school. For me, the best thing I ever did in math was blogging. It helped me become more organized. I liked blogging because I learned how to do new things on the computer and I helped my classmates.

Last year in grade 7 the best unit that I studied was The Order of Operations. I think I did well in this unit because it was easy, you just have to remember what BEDMAS stands for. Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction. The unit that made me struggle was Transformations. I had trouble with rotating the shapes and finding out the new coordinates. This year, I could ask more questions and use my notes or homework book so that I don't struggle so much.

Now that I am in grade 8, I will be more organized and I will study for all of my tests and quizzes. I will also do my homework and hand it in on time to be a successful math student. This year I want to learn more about Algebraic Equations and I also want to be prepared for grade 9.

I was a blogger last year. My favorite post that I created was the blog about Subtracting Fractions With Unlike Denominators. I liked this post because it had color, pictures, and a video. Blogging has helped me become a better student in many ways. It helped me become more organized with my notes, I learned new things, and I listened more attentively in class. This year I want to continue making scribe posts, and I also want to make videos about math.

  4. Good Job Hazel. I liked lots about your post, its nice to know that math has been your strongest subject. I also looked at your blog last year it was really nice. What I dislike about your post is the color. I suggest that next time you use a regular font and use black as your font color instead of pink.

  5. Great job Hazel. Your post was very organized the only reason I found it hard to read was because it was in pink. Next time you should only change the colour of the important words.

  8. Awesome Job Hazel! I liked how you thought of changing the color and the font but you should have changed it to a darker color instead of a light one. I hurts my eyes and others also. It can be really hard to read. Also, I liked how you explained all of this very well. Keep up the good work!
