Summer's Final percent post

This chapter was all about percent. 4.1-representing percents, 4.2-fractions,decimals, and percents, 4.3-percent of a number, and 4.4-combining percents. In 4.1

Percents was pretty easy for me. At first it was tricky but after a while i finally got it. and it wasn't that hard. i will now summarize percent.Add Image

4.1- representing percents this section of the chapter was all about how you can represent percents in different ways for example lets say you have a percent like 45% well you could use a hundred grid to show it like this,
and if you have a number greater than 100% you use more than one hundred grid like this example: 170%

4.2-fractions,decimals, and percents this section of the chapter is all about different ways of showing the same number example: 1/2% = 0.5% or 150% = 150/100 = 1.5 or 1 1/2.

4.3- percent of a number this section was all about using mental math strategies such as halving, doubling, and dividing by ten to find the percents of some numbers. So to find the percent of a number , write the percent as a decimal then multiply by the number.
example: 12 1/2% of 50 = 0.125 x 50
= 6.25

4.4- combining percents this last section of the chapter was all about well combining percents. Percents can be combined by adding to solve problems.
5% + 7% = 12%
You can also add the combined percent amount to the original number.
example: 12% of 100 = 0.12 x 100 = 12
100 + 12= 112.
