Percents

A percent is a fraction out of 100. It can be represented by a hundred grid and written as fractions and decimals.

4.1 Representing Percents

Percents can be represented by using hundred grids. Example: 50% or 1/2.


4.2 Fractions, Decimals, Percents

Percents can be represented as fractions and decimals. Example: 50%; 50/100; 0.5

4.3 Percent of a Number

You could find the percents of numbers by using mental math stradegies. they are halving, doubling, and dividing by 10. Example: 50% of 1000 is 500. Or you can convert the percent to a decimal and then multiplying by the number.

4.4 Combining Percents

Combining percents by adding to solve the problem. Example: 6% + 4% = 10%
