Joshua's Math Profile

Hi. I'm Joshua Simangan. If someone asks me, "Do you like math?" I say, "Are you kidding me, no." I know math is very important for me in the future, but still, i dislike math alot. The most favorite thing I did in math class was when Isfeld was teaching us how to do the blog and a girl in my class suggested if we could use a Justin Bieber video as an example. When some of the girls were screaming, the rest of the class and me were covering our ears. It was hilarious. I liked this event because we got a lesson and a laugh.

The unit last year that I was great at was coordinate grids. I would always get perfect on coordinate grid tests. It was so easy I thought a Grade 1er could do it. I probably did well on this unit because I would always study on it because its so easy. The unit I struggled on last year was fractions. I would always get pretty bad marks on the fraction tests. On that term, I hardly studied to get better. So, for me to get better at fractions, I have to study harder. That's what I'm gonna do this year.

This year, I'll try to be less lazy and actually study for tests. Last year, I didn't do alot of that. So that's how I'll improve. This year I'd like to learn more about what those buttons mean on the calculator. For example, log, sin, etc. I have no idea what they mean.

This is my favorite blog: http://room44math09.blogspot.com/2010/05/measures-of-central-tendency.html. Blogging made me a better student by, teaching me how to finish the blog fast and not 9:00pm so your classmates can comment on it, it teached me how to be more organized when making blogs, and it teached me that the more blogs you do, the more marks you get. ;). What I want to do more in math class on the computer is fun math games. We could be educated while still having fun.

  10. Awesome job Joshua! First of all I liked how you explained most of the things you said. I like how you colored keywords. As others said you should have hyperlinked your link because it doesn't look proper. Next time have the letter I capitalized. I thought you did very well, please do what we say so you can improve. Thanks and great job!
