One step Algebra Equations
Algebra - Writing mathematical phrases using letters to represent a number
eg. 2 + x = 3, 2 - x = 1

Variable - A letter that represents a number algebraic equation and expression
eg. x + 1 = 3

Constant - The integers in an equation and expression
eg. 18 + x = 8

Expression - pattern (many answers)
eg. 8x

Equation - Has only one answer. Also has a equals sign : =
eg. 8x = 16

To solve one steps you need to
  1. first you need Isolate the variable
  2. make a zero pair with the constant
  3. Balance the equation
  4. Verify

  1. Isolate the variable
  2. Cancel the constant
  3. Balance
  4. Simplify the variable
  5. Balance
