Show you know page pg.96

Show you know pg.96
For each of the following, use perfect squares to estimate the square root to one decimal place.Check your answer with a calculator

Ok so baseicly what you have to do is look at your question=18squared draw a line and see what prfect squares are closest to it=4 times 4=16,5 times 5=25,.You put the lower number on the left side and the higher number on the right side. then you you look what numbert is in between 4.5 and put that in the middle UNDER the line. place 4 UNDER the left side of the line and write 5 UNDER the right side of the line. now its time to place 18 on the upper area of the line on the left side of 4.5 but on the right of 4 dont forget this one goes over the line so it should all look like this:

16 18 25 _________________________________________________________________
4 4.5 5
so baecly what you do now is estimate Id say the square root is about 4.2.If you want the exact answer type in 18 then hit the square button on you calculator and you get=4.2426406 and thats all there is to it.

  1. Nice post Hendrick. Make sure you check over your work, I found a few mistakes such as -> "basically." I kind of got confused on how you explained your work, but when you show an example I started to understand what you meant. To make this post better, I think you should add a bit more color and maybe you can explain your work using images. You should have done question b and c as well. Anyways Keep it up!

  2. Good post Hendrick. Make sure to go over your work, and re-read everything you`ve done to make sure it makes sense, I kind of got confused when you explained everything. Also next time you should add color to your post to make the important words stand out. Other than that great job!

  3. Good Job Hendrick. I think your post is okay. But I found lots of mistakes so next time read your work over and do spell and check. Like what Breanna said ^ I dont get what you're trying to explain, its kind of confusing. To make this better a video and link would help a lot. And also add more colors, putting in a picture would help us understand more about what you're explaining. For your title you should've put your name instead of putting in "Show You Know page 96". I think your missing show you know A and B. Anyways, Good Job.

  4. Good Job Hendrick. Next time, before you click post, you should look over your work and spell check. Also you should change the font colours once in a while. Or when theres an important word. Just to catch the readers attention. I don't really understand what you were trying to explain. Even though it might be hard to find, You should look for a video or a link. Lastly, I agree with Anna. I think your missing show you know A and B. Good Job..

  5. Nice post Hendrick. Next time, make sure you look over your work and check your spelling because I found lots of errors. As I was reading your post, I got lost because I didn't really know what you were explaining, for your next post you should put pictures of what you're trying to explain. I think a video and a link would make this post better. Oh, and for your title you put the word "page" twice. You put "page" then "pg." after that. Nice Job

  7. Good job, Hendrick. Your post showed us how to do the first one, but you should have shown us how to do the rest of the questions. You should also check your spelling so the scribe looks neater, along with adding more colour. To help explain your topic better, you should add an image or a link. And for people who are short on time, doing their SYK in the morning with almost no time to go on mytextbook.ca, you should really put the questions up at the beginning of the post. Again, good job.
