Ryan's Pay it Forward

Part 1
An 11 year old boy named Trevor has a troubled family, an alcoholic mother named Arlene, and his dad left them. At Trevor's school he has a new social studies teacher named Mr.Simonet. Mr.Simonet gives Trevor's class an assignment to think of a simple way to make the world a safer place. Trevor thinks of pay it forward, he does a favor for 3 people and ask them to do the same to other people. Trevor starts by helping a junkie named Jerry, then he went to try to get Arlene and Mr.Simonet dating, and lastly he saves his classmate from bullies.

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

My act of kindness was to shovel snow off peoples front yard and back yard.

Why did you choose this activity?

I chose this activity because sometimes some people don't have time to shovel snow off their yard.

What did you do?

I shoveled snow off peoples yard.

Who did you help?

I help anyone around my street who hasn't shovel snow off their yard yet.

When did you do you act of kindness?

I did my act of kindness on Dec.19 2010.

My act of kindness went well.

I was shoveling snow off peoples yard.

I felt good because i was doing something to help people.

The people reacted glad how I went to them and asked if I wanted to shovel snow off their yard for them.

Some people acted a little clueless until i explained what I was trying to say.

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

The idea of Pay it Forward is important because being kind and helping people are nice things and being nice shows that we care.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

My act of kindness made a difference until more snow comes down. If it didn't work then it's alright at least I tried.

Louis' Pay it Forward

Part 1:
The movie Pay it Forward is about a kid named Trevor who tries to make a difference. The idea of pay it forward is one person helps three other people and then it goes on. The first person Trevor tried to help was a homeless person, he let him in his house, feed him, and gave him money. The second person he tried to help was his Social Studies teacher, Trevor tried to make him go out with his mother. The third person he tried to help was friend because he was being bullied, but at the end when Trevor tried to help, he died.

My Pay it Forward act of kindness was helping clean up my school, Sargent Park.

Why did you choose this activity?
I picked this activity because I saw that were lots of mess in the school so I decided to help them out.


Who did you help?
I helped the janitors at Sargent Park.



What did you do?
I helped the school by clean some classrooms in Sargent Park School.

When did you do you act of kindness?

I did my act of kindness on Friday Dec 17, 2010.

I thought my act of kindness went very well, it went greater then I thought i was going to be.

My friends and I helped out and cleaned the school.

The janitors of our school were happy for the help we did.

Yes we did, my friend Patrick did it for us.

Karl's Pay It Forward

Part 1:
In my opinion paying it forward is helping someone to make their life easier. If that person that you helped might get inspired by you and he might help other people and it just goes on just like a chain. I think the whole idea of paying it forward is to make everybody's life in the world easier. This idea was based on a movie called "Pay it Forward".

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

My act if of kindness was to help the custodians of Sargent Park School.

Why did you choose this activity?
I chose this activity because my group and I decided that the custodians of our school were really busy because they work everyday and we wanted to make their jobs easier by cleaning up the school.

Who did you help?
I helped the custodians of Sargent Park School.

What did you do?
My group and I cleaned the whole school by sweeping the hallways and cleaning up the bathrooms.

When did you do your act of kindness?
I did my act of kindness Friday after school.

How did your act of kindness go?
I thought that my act of kindness was successful, and it was better than I expected because i noticed that my group and I cleaned up the school and the custodians barely did any work.

How did you feel?
I felt very proud of my group and we cleaned up a lot of parts of the school in a hour.

How did the people or person react?
The custodians of the school were glad of us and he was surprised because there was a lot of help for him.

Did you ask the person or people to pay it forward?
Yes, we did ask the custodians to pay it forward and they said it's important to help everyone.

The idea of Paying it forward is important because it will make everybody's lives in the world a lot easier and better.

Alec's Pay it Forward

Part One

Pay it Forward is helping people without expecting anything back. It's kind of like a chain reaction. If you help one person, then there is a chance they get inspired and they start helping other people. The big idea of Pay it Forward is to help make the world a better place. The whole idea came from a movie named "Pay it Forward" where a boy named Trevor is given an assignment to make the world a better place. He came up with an idea where if you help three people, then they'll help another and the number gets getting bigger, and bigger.

Part Two

For my act of kindness, I chose to send a letter to a Canadian soldier in Kandahar, Afghanistan. I chose this activity to let a soldier know that I believe in him. To let him know that I honor his patriotism and courage to this country. It must be really hard to watch other people die and at the same time know that your life is at risk.

Part Three

On Thursday, December 16, I made a rough copy of a letter that I would later on send to a Canadian soldier. When I first planned to send a letter, I thought it would be a great idea. I've heard many stories of how soldiers love to receive letters, and I thought that I could make them feel good even if they are miles away from their loved ones. On Friday, December 17, I typed a good copy of my letter. Then, on December 19, I went with my dad to send the letter. It felt really good. I hope when the soldier receives it, they have a positive reaction because I put a lot of heart into that. I did not say pay it forward because defending the country is already a huge responsibility.

Part Four

The idea of Pay it Forward is important because it helps make the world a better place to live. If everyone tried to Pay it Forward, then maybe there will be no poverty, no racism, and no war. I really hope my act of kindness makes a encourages the soldier to continue to be a true patriot. I hope it helps them to be brave even if they are far from their family.

Angelique's Pay it Forward

Part 1

Pay it forward is a way of helping people or doing an act of kindess, but there is no pay back or gift. Instead, they pay it forward to someone else then this goes on, like a chain reaction. This all came from a movie actually called, "Pay it Forward." This movie is like the same thing. There was a student named Trevor that had an assignment to do a random act of kindness to three people and then each of them pass it to another three which makes nine, then this continues to twelve. Unfortunately, Trevor dies because he saved his friend from teens that were beating him up. The bullies used a knife to kill Trevor.

Part 2

My pay it forward act of kindness was to shovel snow in front of peoples houses.

We chose to do this because we thought it would be fun and a great way to be kind.

We did our act of kindness for three people. Two strangers, and my neighbor.

We did the same things for the three houses, we shoveled their front yard and sidewalks around the houses. We did our act of kindness on Saturday, December 18th, 2010.

Part 3

Our act of kindness went very well. None of the people backed down. I felt very warmed and nice because you don't really do this everyday for different people and strangers. They were very thankful that we were there to clean their yard. Before we cleaned their yard we asked permission and gave them a card. Which had a candy cane with it that said, "Pay it Forward." One person replied, "I guess i'm going to have to pay it forward," with a smile on her face. The other two just smiled and nodded their heads yes. We all felt very thankful that they appreciated on what we had done for them.

Part 4

The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because it makes the world more peaceful and beautiful. Makes world a better place for us human beings. This can change many peoples; lives. It shows that we care for people and our community. I think our act of kindness made a difference. We helped people that may not have the time to do it on their own or they cannot do it because of any injuries. I'm glad to do this anytime again in the future.

Mark's Pay it Forward

Part 1

Pay it Forward is a way to show people that you are there for them and you are willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy them. Pay it Forward is something you do for someone that is in need of help, and in turn for helping them, they will try to Pay it Forward to someone else. This is basically a tree that keeps going on and on because after you Pay it Forward to someone, they Pay it Forward to someone else and it forms a chain.

Part 2

My Pay it Forward act of kindness was to send a soldier a letter that hopefully helps them in their situation.

I chose this activity because I'm pretty sure the soldier would have been pretty down because they are not near their loved ones near Christmas time and I just wanted them to be happy for Christmas.

I helped a soldier that is in need of being happy and is not near their family.

In the letter, I told the soldier that when he or she comes back home, their will be people waiting for you safe arrival and Thank You for everything.

I did my act of kindness on Friday December 17, 2010 and mailed it on December 18, 2010.

Part 3

My act of kindness went pretty good, better then I expected because when I saw the letter and read the letter I made, I was very surprised of what I have done and what it will do to a soldier.

I felt joyful at the fact that some soldier will be happy and have something to look forward to.

I did not ask the soldier to Pay it Forward in the letter because they already are Paying it Forward, risking their lives for us.

Part 4

The idea of Pay it Forward is to show people that they have someone to lean on when they are down, and so we have the looks and feelings of a perfect world.

I'm confident that my act of kindness will make a difference during the time a soldier reads it. He or she will hopefully have a smile on their face and never think of the fact that they are away from their loved ones.

Now after reading this, please Pay it Forward if you haven't already. But if you have Payed it Forward already, please continue to Pay it Forward for there is more people in need of a smile.

Jasmin's Pay it Forward

Part one-
The movie "Pay it Forward" is about a young boy named Trevor. He had a troubled family, his mother named Arlene, was alcoholic and his father has left him. On the first day of school, Trevor's Social Studies teacher, Mr. Simonet gave them an assignment to think of a simple way to save the world. Trevor decides to "Pay it Forward" or show an act of kindness to other people. He pays it forward to three other people. First he helps a homeless man/junkie. Second, he tries to get Mr.Simonet and his mom together. Third, he helps a boy that gets bullied.

Part two-
For my act of kindness, my group and I decided to shovel other peoples sidewalks. We chose to do this activity because it was fun, and we thought it would be a great idea since it has been snowing for the past three days! It was also great exercise! We helped shovel the sidewalk of three families around the neighborhood. They were all very kind! We knocked on doors around the neighborhood and asked if we could shovel their sidewalk, then we gave them a candy cane and a holiday card, finally.. we started to shovel. We did our act of kindness on Saturday, December 18, 2010.


Part three-
"Pay it Forward"


I think our act of kindness went really well! A lot of things happened. We went to one of the houses in the neighborhood, the lady living there was extremely nice! She told us that her car was stolen a few days ago, and that she was really upset about it.. but once she found out that we were paying it forward and the fact that we were going to shovel her sidewalk made her very proud! She said, "Thank you girls, you cheered me up! Happy Holidays!" I felt very happy knowing that we were helping other people. It felt amazing to see that big smile on their faces. I am proud of myself and my group/friends.. Angelique and Anna, because we stayed out in the cold for a few hours, but at the end.. it was all worth it! The reaction of the people was something like "Thank you! Happy Holidays!" but others said "Let me see if I have some change" because they thought they had to pay us for shoveling. We asked the people to "Pay it Forward." One lady said "I will definitely pay it forward, Thanks!"

Part four-
The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because it's sometimes nice to think of other people and help other people instead of always putting yourself first. One simple act of kindness can really help a person out, it can also put a huge smile on their face. I think my act of kindness has made a difference.
